Model UN Club Training Plan
Looking to train your Model UN team to get started with Model UN? Using our training plan, you can teach a 6-course series that will turn your team into experienced negotiations in no time! By focusing on the fundamentals of Model UN, you can teach your team Public Speaking, Research, Negotiation, Model UN Procedure, Resolution Writing, and the basics of Model UN to get them ready to compete at travel conferences.
Week 1- Fruits and Vegetables
Help delegates get familiar with “Model UN Procedure” without having to
worry about complicated topics and having to research. Also, it’s a great ice breaker,
so feel free to let it get fun!
Week 2- The United Nations
Introduce delegates to the basic facts, structure, rules, and principles of the United Nations
Week 3- Public Speaking
Teach delegates the basics of writing a speech with strong structure, and identify key areas for each delegate to improve their public speaking
Week 4- Research
Introduce delegates to what they should be researching to write a Position Paper and prepare for their first Model UN Conference,
Week 5- Resolution Writing
Introduce delegates to the process and format for Resolution Writing without intimidating them with complicated topics about global issues.
